Tianjin: Riding an electric bicycle—no cell phone use allowed!
In our daily lives, the number of “phone‑addicted” individuals is steadily increasing. Following media reports, many people are now aware that using a mobile phone while driving is illegal; however, few realize that using a phone while operating a non‑motorized vehicle also poses significant safety risks. To effectively eliminate these hazards, the “Several Provisions on Road Traffic Safety of Tianjin Municipality,” which will take effect on January 1, 2021, explicitly stipulates that when traveling on roads, drivers of non‑motorized vehicles must not engage in activities—such as browsing electronic devices or holding and answering or making calls—that compromise road traffic safety.
